RAINY SUNDAY = HUMMUS SUNDAY

I visit the Takapuna Flea Market almost every Sunday.
And every time I'm there, I visit the Turkish Deli stall.

They have amazing homemade hummus, pita bread and turkish bread.
They also have nuts and figs and other food imported from Turkey.

A couple of months ago, I noticed that they do 2-for-1 hummus on rainy days.
Ever since then, rainy Sundays have become Hummus-Sundays for me.

PISTACHIO FRIENDS

Had a lovely Sunday morning with my pistachi-bros.

Oh, and of course my Sunday morning began with a stroll around the Takapuna Flea Market.

FLOWER POWER

Is it okay to pick flowers? I don't know, but I definitely don't feel good when I pick flowers. I can't even get myself to pick a small daisy or dandelion in the garden anymore. A couple of days ago I wanted to make Tori a daisy collar but didn't want to kill the little daisies. But florists arrange flowers so prettily. It's weird, I don't feel bad about buying flowers but do feel bad when I pick flowers from the ground.

By the way, the top two flowers are from the Takapuna Sunday Market. There's a lady that sells small bunches of flowers for $2 to $5. Her stall is very close to Burger King.

TAKAPUNA NIGHT MARKET

I love markets. I have been to a wide variety of markets in New Zealand, Korea, Italy. Zine markets, art & craft markets, clothes markets, indie goods markets, food markets...the list goes on. I wish that I had taken photos and recorded them properly. But I am starting now with the Takapuna Night Market.

The Takapuna Night Market started around a month ago and is held every Thursday night on the Hurstmere Green during Spring/Summer. There aren't that many booths at the moment, but I think it has the potential to become more exciting over the next few months. There is live music, lots of food, and lots of little sparrows chirping in the trees lined on Hurstmere Road.

At this time of the evening, the trees lined on Hurstmere Road are full of sparrows. If you look closely at the photos, you will realize that the ratio of sparrows to leaves is almost 1:2
