THIS WEEK

On the way to the airport I caught a glimpse of the new Auckland Prison. It is a very nice building.

I drew moustaches on models.

Went over to my aunty's place. I like her neighbourhood. My aunt is one of the nicest people I know, and also makes super yummy food.

Drank lemon gin and tonic. It was nice and refreshing. I felt really sleepy afterwards.

Went oyster-picking for the first time in my life. It was more difficult than I imagined.

INCHEON AIRPORT, SEOUL

I read somewhere that "the airport lounge is the ultimate postmodern experience. All sense of time and space is suspended".

This is quite true. Airports are such interesting places.
There is a sense of placelessness. It's like an in-between-space.

I know I'm in Seoul but I don't feel like I'm actually in Seoul.
I want to step outside the airport. Then I will feel like I'm in Seoul. But I can't.
I've passed the security gates and customs and can't go back out. Just have to wait for my flight.

Ultra futuristic shuttle tram that goes through an ultra futuristic tunnel. This was more exciting than most theme-park rides I have been on.

Comfy seats at Incheon Airport

KLM IS NICE

Holy shamoly I got upgraded from Business Class to First Class and it was good.

I have never been on First Class before. Far out it's nice on First Class. It didn't even feel like I was on a plane. It was more like a mini lounge with super comfy seats.

It was a 12 hour flight from Amsterdam to Seoul so it really made a huge difference to be seated in First Class. It's more comfortable than Business class and just a completely different flying experience when compared to Economy seats.

A bit unfair in my opinion. I dunno. It was a bit of a guilty indulgence. I normally fly on Economy seats and I know how uncomfortable it is. I didn't know it was THIS different on First Class. People say money can't buy happiness, but I think money CAN buy ultra luxurious comfort and peace of mind. (Which pretty much puts you in a state of happiness).

The stewardess remembers each passenger's name and addresses them by title and surname before asking anything. The food was nice too (of course).

The pilots come in and out from the door at the front.
So much leg room. Such an ergonomically designed screen.

Flavours of Europe...Mmm

SEE YA ITALY

Not going to say goodbye.
See you later, is more appropriate.
I will be back.

Bologna airport is small. It's like a mini shopping mall with the addition of magical gates to different countries.
Bologna countryside fields and farms

Tear.

Scrumptious airline food, once again cheered me up

EVEN AIRPORT FOOD IS NICE IN FRANCE

So much nice food in the airport lounge. Just there to take and eat. Unlimited. Seriously.

ZOMG so much free food. Tried really hard to hide my excitement.
All these drinks and yogurt, just there to take and eat.
In-flight lunch. Better than any packed lunch I've had during my 5 years in high school.
French biscuits and cookies!
