I did it! I went and watched the Christmas preview for Life of Pi (in 3D). It was stunning. Loved it. I will go watch it again next month. I might just try watching it in 2D.
This holiday season has been pretty sucky for me, but watching this movie today has made it much much less sucky. Haha.
Ah, one thing to note is that Pi's journey didn't seem long enough. I expected it to be longer. But other than that, I loved everything about the movie. In particular, I really enjoyed the first part of the movie set in India. It is seriously so so beautiful. I'm so glad they put just as much weight in the first part of the story.
Oh yeah, I was expecting to cry but I didn't. Arrrrrg Pi's journey wasn't long enough! That's why. That long exhausting journey and all the details of Pi's fierce will to survive... it wasn't there. Oh well. If I want to cry, I can go watch the trailer and sob quietly alone in my room.
