MELBOURNE IS AWESOME

Melbourne is awesome. So beautiful and vibrant. And even outside the main cbd, there are so many nice, developed areas.

I am really starting to like Melbourne. I think I will enjoy living here.

Used the tram for the second time in my life today. Trams are really interesting. I went to South Yarra. Apparently it is one of the most affluent suburbs in Melbourne. It's really nice there (obviously).

Yesterday I went to Carlton. Lygon St is absolutely awesome! I love it there. It has lots of Italian shops and restaurants.

So so so much left to explore in Melbourne. I'm really excited. "Being a tourist v.s Being an exchange student" is something I think about a lot. It feels so different. I think when you're a tourist, you know you're in that country/city for short period so you try to absorb everything really quickly and feel overwhelmed by everything new. But as an exchange student, that attitude changes. Right now, I feel really relaxed and ready to adapt to life as a Melbournian.

I really like the apartment I'm living in at the moment. There's a dog that looks really similar to my own little pooch at home. The landlady is really nice, generous, and I think we have a lot of things in common. The apartment itself is perfect – located in the "Paris end" of the city, quiet, clean, modern. But it has sort of been decided that this will be just a short term stay.

I think Melbourne is perfect for testing/building my independence. I don't have any family members or super close friends here, but then again it's not too far from Auckland (so I don't feel too panicky when I encounter problems).

Eh. Time to sleep now.

I will be taking SO many photos in the next few months so get ready Blogspot! Ahahaha.
