SNOW!

It was snowing in Auckland today! I couldn't believe it. The closest thing to snow I've ever seen in Auckland (before today) were little white cotton flower fluffs floating around the sky in summer.

I grew up as a snow-deprived child and was taught that it just DOES NOT and WILL NOT snow in Auckland. I took this in as a fact and actually legitimately thought I would never see snow in Auckland.

This reminds me of that weird conversation I had with a foreign security guard last year, and also the Truth Table/Logic from PHILOSOPHY101. So what happened was:
This security guard man saw my friend's painting of a white horse and said "Ahh a pony!"
So I said "No, that's a horse."
He said "No that's a pony. There are no such thing as white horses."
I said, "Oh okay". (In my head, I was like "what the heck?" but I didn't say this out loud because it was 10pm and I was alone at the Elam studios, and I didn't want to get in an argument with this 'security guard' person). So yeah, he had probably never seen a white horse before, so he thought it was a fact (i.e. 'the truth') that there were no such thing as white horses.

So anyway, yeah. I thought that it was a fact (or the truth) that it does not snow in Auckland. BUT IT DID! TODAY!

So pretty, but so so cold. Just like people in high end department stores.
