There have been quite a few events involving insects during last two days.
1. There was a trapped bee in the house that kept banging on the net-curtains (dunno what you call those white see through curtains - the ones where you can see through from one side, but can't if the other side is darker. Quite interesting how they work). Anyway, it kept banging on the curtains as though repetitive head smashing would magically let him go through the curtains and through the windows to the outside world. To cut a long story short I spent 30min sweating by the window, taking on full sunlight trying to free the bee. The reason it took so long is because the stupid bee would go up and down the window but not side to side. The window to its left was open, but nooo, it just kept buzzing up and down, up and down the window on the right which is unopenable. Eventually I was able to maneuver it by twisting and shuffling the curtains and the bee was freed!
Yayyy! go make lots of honey so I can eat it.
2. It's Summer and there are a quite a few flies flying about, especially when you have grilled fish, bean soup, or other saucy and smelly (but yummy) Korean food frequently. So the other day, I spotted this really old looking big brown fruit fly on the windowsill, and I observed it for a while and got closer. It looked really yuck and unappetizing, so I swooshed my hand very close to it, but it wouldn't fly away. So I kept provoking it and tried to make it react but it wouldn't. So I just kept observing it. And then I saw it sort of kneeling and like lying to its side. It looked as though it was dying of age. I've never seen a fly die of age. They're always shooed out of the house, fly-spray-choked, or splattered by a fly whacker. I came back to the windowsill the next day to check if it was still there, and it was. But it was lying on its back- I'm assuming it died! And then I checked the spot again this evening and it was gone! I think mum threw it away.
3. I was just about to turn on the shower head when I spotted a little ant on the floor of the shower booth. I tried to get it out of the shower booth by putting my finger in its path so that I could let it out the window. But it wouldn't go onto my finger and kept running away. I tried for like 2 minutes, but I had to have my shower so I just turned on the shower and it got flushed away in the water. I felt a bit bad. I feel less bad now. But when it happened I felt quite sad and bad. I think it's the acne medication I'm on.
