Okay, so the mango seed I threw into the garden is now covered with ants.
It was meant to be a treat for the birds! Not ants!
Ants can have Nutella. Mango seeds are for birds.
Geezus.
Now the birds are going to eat the ants on the mango seed.
This was not the way it was supposed to play out.
It was supposed to be like:
I throw the fleshy mango seed into the garden ---> birds gather and peck on the seed ---> I watch from my bedroom window quietly and absolutely still ---> I smile ---> I throw away the clean seed.
Instead it went like:
I throw the fleshy mango seed into the garden ---> no birds gather ---> I watch from my bedroom window quietly and absolutely still ---> nothing happens ---> I get frustrated ---> I check on the seed 5 hours later ---> a billion ants are stuck on the fleshy mango seed ---> the birds have already gone into the trees to sleep.
I like watching ants too but this was not intended for them. I didn't expect ants and wasn't able to observe the gathering and sticking-onto-the-mango process. And now they are just going to get eaten by birds, probably really early in the morning when I am not awake to see it.
I will check it again tomorrow and see if there are any bird pecks on it.
Oh shoot. I hope it doesn't attract the hedgehogs next door.
They are cute, but Tori gets really angry when they come into his territory.
And also, they only come at night so it's really hard to observe them. They freeze at the slightest sound and don't move for like 4 minutes.
This mango seed throwing business has caused more trouble than I expected.
